customer 's review (Just what I needed)  (awesome little gadget!) (Duet Dual Port USB Charger) (2 charging ports = Genius!) (Incompatible with Zen) So far so good with the MusicPower Duet. No more clogging my workspace or the USB ports on my computer charging Sony and Zune players for my son and I. It's now in the kitchen for easy access. This one device came at a price less than the individual name brand chargers. I certainly can't attest to any long-term performance, but I hope it continues to be fast and convenient. We travel out of the country often, so lugging a laptop AND the electronics would be troublesome. This allows us to charge our ipod nanos and our archos 504s without any problems. I've charged all my standard USB stuff with this. IT won't work with my Samsung cell (non-standard USB) nor my DS Lite (non-standard USB) it will charge my fuji finepix digital camera so long as I have the dock and the usb. Excellent device. It will work with most standard USB devices other than a few odd balls like the Zen. I can charge two Sony Walkmans at the same time. It has universal input 110-240V AC and has dual 5V 500 ma USB outputs. The charger is about the same size as a Sony NWZ Walkman. Anything I can do to reduce the clutter of chargers is a plus - so I was very pleased to find this 2 port charger that I now use for my Zune and Treo. My understanding from the manufacturer is that it works with all STANDARD USB connections and not all MP3 players/PDA's are. They work for my devices and my daughters iPOd - so we could not be happier with this small, cool charger. After buying one ... you will wonder why you didn't pick up more! Good product - excellent value. This seemed like a nifty accessory: compact and energy efficient, charges two players at a time, and $10 cheaper than the bulky Creative charger with its tangly power cord and adapter. I asked the store sales assistant twice if it would work with the Creative Zen V Plus I was purchasing and she assured me it would. It doesn't. I plugged in my Zen with its half charge from the factory, and by morning the battery was dead. I called the toll-free number on the back of the charger and was told the Duet is incompatible with Zens. I wish I didn't have to rate the product poorly. It may be terrific. I just want people to know they should check with the manufacturer for compatibility: 800-637-2867. customer 's review (Great Idea, Terrible Quality) (Great features but marginal execution...) (Where has this been hiding??) (Emergency backup!) This a great idea, especially for travel. Unfortunately, the product is very cheaply made. When first plugged in it felt as though the metal contact blades were loose and unstable. I can twist the unit slighty to get the green charge light to come on but then it goes off (indicating that it is not working). Do not bother with this until made by a higher quality manufacturer. The features are excellent, two USB chargers plus battery for recharging without AC. The wall charger works as expected, allowing 2 USB devices to charge, so no waiting for one to finish before plugging in the other. I use this nightly to charge up my mobile phone and Bluetooth headset. The battery does not list it's capacity, not in the documentation and not even on the battery itself. This makes one question how weak it is. I let my phone go completely dead and was able to bring it to a full charge using only the battery, but only once. The battery in the Encore had no juice left, so it is pretty low capacity. Most USB battery based changers can push 2 on 3 recharges, this can do only one. It did work though, so it can help while in the field or airplane. I wish the battery capacity were higher, and wish it was better built (it just feels cheap and cheesy) but the features are good. So far, it does what it says. Until now I couldn't get power to my iPod and now iPhone whenever and where-ever I needed it. Now I can. This rechargeable battery and 2 port charger is awesome! I don't have to be connected to my computer or car to operate or charge my devices. I also discovered that it charges my Blackberry as well! If you are on the go and want to make sure you have the juice for your videos/music/phone this is a cool charger that I highly recommend. This product is truly unique. It has 2 charging ports for simultaneous charging of 2 devices and a "Extended Battery". The extended battery allows for charging or extending use while away from an AC outlet. The other unique feature is that the battery in the Encore is replaceable! I haven't found these feature in competing products. I have used this device on my shuffle for a few months. I now have an iPhone that I was happy to see it work with. I love the fact that I plug it in and charge up my iPhone with the added benefit of the rechargeable battery in the Encore charging while my phone charges. I keep the musicPower Encore in my computer bag while I'm in the field so I can plug it in to extend play or talk time on my iPhone. So far it seems to offer about 1 hour and 15 minutes of charge time on my iPhone before the Encore battery is exhausted. According to apple spec this could translate into roughly 3 hours of talk time, or 7 hours of music play on the iPhone. I recently gave a musicPower Encore as a birthday gift to someone who has a Blackberry. I'll be curious to see if the battery in the Blackberry can be charged completely by the battery in the Encore. This device is versatile, unique, and for the capabilities... affordable. The Solo and Duet also look compelling if you don't need the extended battery found in the Encore. (Best one I've used) (Very pleased with this Plantronic Product) I had originally ordered this product on E-Bay at a lower cost and it arrived in a plain brown box, with partial xeroxed instructions, and no plastic sealing it. I've been quite pleased with the one from Amazon and have had no problem pairing it with my phone or using it. The only annoyance is periodic beeps. My son had originally recommended it to me and now I pass on the recommendation to you. I've used a number of headsets, but this one seems to be the best. I am able to hear others and they can hear me, so other than the bulky size there's not much more I could ask for. It is also surprisingly comfortable. Ultimately I will probably also get a headset w/ noise cancellation as I travel a lot and callers have commented that they could hear significant background noise in airports and train stations, but otherwise this works very well. This is my second Bluetooth headset. The first was a Jabra and it was horrible. No one could hear me clearly and it had a long delay. I was hesitant to get another, but with laws changing in California, I had to get one for the car. I have a Plantronics CS50 wireless headset at the office that works great, so I thought I would try their bluetooth product. Being I have a convertible, I thought I would try the one with the WINDSMART feature. As long as the windows and windscreen are up, it works perfectly with the top down. I have also used it while out sailing, and even on windy days at sea, it works well. The only downside is that the battery is not replacable. I figure it will work a couple of years before the battery dies, and by then technology will have changed, so who cares!!! GREAT PRODUCT! I am sold on bluetooth now. This BT headset is not the "sexiest" unit I've ever seen but I've been using mine nearly every day for about 10 months now and have not had one single negative experience with it. The sound is good, the features are good the performance is good. I fold mine down and stick it in my pants pocket with zero damage and zero issues. I find this "behind-the-ear" design to be the most comfortable design yet. The external ear itself supports the weight so you're not trying to jam the thing inside your ear tight enough to keep it in place. Very sensible! The iPod touch is the Internet computer in your pocket the futurists have been predicting for decades. I haven't jailbroken mine, and I anticipate the advanced functionality of the upcoming 2.0 software (due for release on June 9). But even today I use plenty of iPhone/iPod-ready web apps that do an amazing job. The Safari web browser is the best web experience on a handheld ever. I wish Mail let me bulk-delete messages. Deleting one by one is very tedious. Synching using iTunes on a Mac is seamless, not a single problem yet. I wish I could have afforded the 16Gb or 32Gb so I could carry more music, movies, and photos (not to mention the forthcoming applications) so if you have the cash, do it. All the good things are same as covered earlier, but the new things that I want to add is - (i) I tried and tested a couple of custom cables for viewing videos on TV, but it finally worked with Apple' original av cables only. (ii) Also earlier if the wifi was switched on, and if your itouch was in sleep mode for entire night, then by morning time battery used to drained out, but this is no more true...your battery stays intact during sleep time! Also purchased this case DLO HipCase Leather Folio for iPod touch (Black) from amazon.com, which fits perfectly. Well my 5G "iPod with video" finally gave out after 3 strong years so I decided to take advantage of Apple's 10% trade in deal and purchased the 8gb iPod Touch. After spending about a week using the product I find that I am very pleased overall. There are so many improvements and new features with the Touch that it's difficult to list them all so I'll keep it to a few: - The screen is huge and the resolution makes it absolutely gorgeous; displaying both album artwork and music videos is a sight to be seen. Very clean, very crisp picture. - Menu system is very easy to use and navigate in and out of. At any point you can exit to the main screen with a simple touch. Forget having to press 'menu' 5 times like in previous generations. - The WiFi feature is great and will automatically display found networks. This honestly is the single best reason for purchasing the device. I love being able to connect on the go. Some places where improvement is needed: - Simple things like turning up the volume are actually more difficult - especially true when driving. Instead of feeling your way with the click wheel you now have to look down at the device and move the slider for volume. In my experience I've had mixed results as usually I'm using my thumb to adjust the volume; just as often I've either paused or skipped to the next song on accident. - The included USB 2.0 cable is a more compact design on the iPod data link side. For some reason Apple ditched the quick release tabs and now its somewhat difficult to disengage the cable. Not a big deal but annoying. - The on screen keyboard is nice but can be difficult to use if you have larger fingers. - Better integration with very common formats like WMA for media and .pdf are needed!! - We need a built-in FM receiver. Seriously, this has been an option on the competition for years! All in all I am very satisfied. I expect that anyone familiar with Apple products will find that they like the product. I also expect that considering my iPod Touch has flash memory instead of a HDD that longevity will be significantly improved. Ok, well... the product was amazing,as expected, in full working order original packaging, and not a thing wrong with it.(that is the most important part, I was very pleased when it came) And, although it took a while to get the shipping started, leaving me with my accesories empty, but I would rather have slow shiping and a good product then it come the next day all banged up.
